Harvy2 retrofitting use case for municipal utilities and grid operators

Attention municipal utilities and grid operators! Incredible but true: many local distribution transformers are still not digitalised.

Current flows are still recorded using an analogue moving-pointer meter and often read manually only once a year. This is not only extremely time-consuming but also highly inaccurate. Reliable conclusions for capacity-appropriate grid expansion cannot really be drawn from this. To make the low-voltage network fit for the future, an effective solution is needed in the first step to enable second-accurate power measurement.

For this use case, our Harvy2 LoRaWAN current sensor is ideal. It allows even remote local distribution transformers to be retrofitted for low-voltage power measurement in no time. It is compatible with any Energy management platform and provides event-based measurement data in real time. In addition, it is completely maintenance-free, as it does not require a battery. The energy required for operation is drawn from the magnetic field around the electrical conductor.

About deZem

Since 2003, deZem has been developing and supplying hardware and software to network and analyse sensor data from many heterogeneous sources - worldwide with projects in Europe, America and Asia. Originally started in the field of energy controlling, we have expanded our range of products and services over the years into a comprehensive system for IoT data management, from industrial analytics to plant and process monitoring to technical building management. Because the basic idea is the same: to create a scalable platform for collecting and analysing IoT data.
